The true tragedy is that it's often misdiagnosed, misunderstood, or diagnosed too late. Aside from chronic debilitating pain and depression, this disease causes infertility along with a slew of co-existing, usually chronic, conditions. So far, the only known treatments are surgery and hormone therapy, yielding no permanent results.
