Thursday night a launch party for a Detroit-based global talent website called Access4Artists.com happened on the Madison Building's rooftop kiddy corner from the Opera House in Detroit . Grey Goose Vodka, and Ambassador Magazine sponsored the event. Complimentary savory, summery, and rich appetizers, the gorgeous view of downtown Detroit, and a hip, fun, and contemporary array of entertainment were highlights of the evening.

Greenfield Village hosts a Ragtime event every summer. On July 14th and 15th attendees were treated to old fashioned culinary gems like kettle popcorn, fresh mint iced tea, and custard. Visually Greenfield Village is always a treat as well. An old fashioned cop on Main Street, an extensive ragtime jazz band complete with several dancers in period attire, an old fashioned train giving train rides, and tours in Model T cars. The event concluded with a parade ending with the upbeat classic When the Saints Go Marching In. A trip to Greenfield Village is highly recommended.

Sunday night the Concert of Colors ended on a high and energetic note. George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic played a nearly two hour set. George Clinton often will play a long and uber spirited set for Detroit audiences. Bootsy Collins at one point extensively crowd surfed up to the second floor balcony in Orchestra Hall. The crowd loved the visual and dynamic element of the show. Several folks were dancing on stage near the end of the set. The set ended with an extended version of Atomic Dog. George Clinton is not to be missed!
