Sorry I missed last week, but I was still recovering from the really great Motor City Special kickoff party.
Make sure to check the link above if you couldn't make to preorder the vinyl!!! Anyways, onto the beyond....

Every once in awhile a band or group comes along that is pushing music a step or two ahead. Crystal Castles is one of those bands. They are able to make inconceivable sounds and songs turning to technology rather than your traditional instruments. In an industry the revers pop music (Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus) and an indie scene that worships throwback music (The Dead Weather, MGMT) it's nice to see something bold, new, and genre bending. Sure you could quantify Crystal Castles' sound as a mesh of trance, electro, grind, dance, club, house, et al, but it is very unique sounding and with their newest self-titled release a defining sound is more rounded. Their first self-titled seemed to be more of a collection of remixes and demos, which is pretty much what it was. It's nice to see as they progressed they've kept the same aesthetics while creating something new that still pushes concepts about music to the brink. I highly suggest checking out both their available records. Everyone I know that has listened to them has really dug them. To purchase their records visit their webpage here.

If you would like something revued by the legendary -jr, feel free to mail hard-copies to 11859 Sycamore, Plymouth, Mi. 48170....and I am partial to vinyl.
