Instead or reviewing something this week, your Santa Claus -jr will be giving you a big freebie. Why a freebie? Well this freebie is in support of a newly remodeled site that has been doing great things lately for the local Detroit Music Scene. Under new managemnt, they have take a new approach to coverage of our local area. This new approach centers around videographing every decent band they can get in touch with. They make nothing from this, they work minimum wage jobs, they need better equipment to make the interviews/coverage more streamlined and professional. To raise money, they are holding a benefit concert this Saturday (3/20) at The New Way in Ferndale. Entry into the show is free, but donations are suggested and welcomed. So come out this Saturday and see some great bands and support the glorious reinvention that is Motorcityrocks.com

All of the bands met this past Sunday in Corktown for the annual St. Paddy's Day Race/Parade. The goal was to film roaming interviews but the weather was non-permissive. Therefore, the bands took hold in Motor City Brewing Works and the MCR crew set up shop. Here are the results:

In closing, Motorcityrocks.com hosted a compilation tape of the bands involved in contributing to this fundraiser. Each band submitted 2 songs to give a little something to get you, the audience ready for the show. To familiarize yourself if you are unfamiliar....to fall in love. If nothing else, and you can't make it, click the picture below to download a free comp mix of some great bands. Really, this what it's all about...great local art, culture, and music.
